Your privacy is very important to Onguard BV (hereinafter: Onguard). Therefore, we adhere to the privacy laws. This implies that your personal data is safe with us and that we will process your personal data in accordance with the applicable privacy laws (including the General Data Protection Regulation).

We comply with the privacy legislation requirements when using your data. This implies, amongst other things, that:

- we limit our collection of personal data to include only what’s required for legitimate purposes;

- we take appropriate security measures to protect your personal data and require the same from parties that process personal data on our behalf;

In this Privacy Statement, we explain what Onguard does with the information that you provide to us or that we collect.

Use of personal data
When you use our websites and services, we might obtain the following information pertaining to you:
- Your name;
- Phone number;
- Email address;
- Click behaviour and cookies;
- Username;
- Password;
- Personal data that might be provided by you in the ‘Comments’ field;
- Your CV (in the case of a job application).
The law refers to this information as ‘personal data’ and states that we may only use this information if we explain exactly how and why we will use it. The ‘why’ and ‘how’ are explained below.
We may use your personal data for various purposes, such as:
- To communicate Onguard’s offers through post, email or telephone;
- To answer your questions or to respond to your complaints;
- For interview purposes;
- To provide Onguard’s services (including support);
- To improve our website.
In a legal sense, this implies that we use your information at your request, when we’ve concluded an agreement with you, or when we are obliged to so do by law.
Retention
We will retain the above described personal data for as long as needed to supply you with the requested services. Afterwards, we will retain your personal data for up to one additional year in line with the described statistical purposes. We will then delete the data unless we are required by law to keep the data for longer (like in the case of the 7-year retention obligation for administrative data for tax purposes). If you apply for a job with us, we will keep your information for up to six weeks after the position has been filled.
Sharing personal data with other companies or institutions
We will only share your personal data with other companies or institutions when required for the functioning of our website and/or services or when required by law.
We collaborate with certain companies. Therefore, these partners may have access to your personal data. This access is required so we can offer our services to you. You will be informed about this beforehand.
Profiling
We profile individuals who have identified themselves by way of their email- and IP address. The profile consists of personal- and role-based information and visit- and click behaviour. The personal data that we might collect in your case includes information that you provide when answering questions in a form or via interactive content, like a demo.
The reason we profile individuals is to be able to send you the right communication (information) at the right time. We believe that profiling enables us to serve you best regarding the challenges and questions that led you to our website.
Please send an email to contact@onguard.com, asking us to exclude you from profiling, if, despite our good intentions, you would prefer that we do not build a profile on you.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file that is sent along by the pages of this website and is stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. The information that is stored by a cookie can be returned to our web server during your next visit.

Social media buttons
Our website uses buttons to promote web pages and to share them via social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. These buttons store cookies.
These buttons work via pieces of code that come from the relevant social network. We have no control over this. You must read the respective network’s privacy statements (which may be updated regularly) to find out what happens to the (personal) data that’s obtained via these cookies.
The information that’s collected via these networks is transferred to the United States and stored on servers located there. The companies behind these networks declare that they comply with the Privacy Shield principles. This implies that a suitable level of protection is in place should personal data be processed.
Tracking and profiling through session cookies and permanent cookies
We use so-called tracking cookies to build a profile on you, using the tools Act-on, Hotjar and Google Analytics, which we explain in more detail below. The related profile only serves to tailor the advertisements and content to your profile, so the information that’s shown to you is as relevant as possible.
A permanent cookie helps us recognise you during a subsequent visit to our website. The website will, therefore, be tailored to your preferences. When you have consented to the use of cookies, we can remember this using a cookie. As a result, you do not have to re-enter your preferences each time you visit, which saves you time and makes your website session more convenient. You can delete permanent cookies via your browser’s settings.
A session cookie enables us to see which website sections you viewed during your visit. This helps us to tailor our service, as much as possible, to the surfing behaviour of our visitors. These cookies are automatically deleted as soon as the web browser is closed.

Google Analytics
Our website stores cookies from the American company known as Google, as part of the ‘Google Analytics’ service. This service allows us to track and analyse reports on how visitors use our website. Google may pass this information on to third parties if it is legally required to do so or if third parties process the information on behalf of Google. This is not within our control. We have not authorised Google to use the obtained analytics information for other Google services. The information is transmitted to and through Google and is stored on servers in the United States. Hubspot
Our website also stores a permanent cookie from the American company known as Hubspot. This cookie helps us recognise you during a subsequent visit to our website. Hotjar
Our website stores cookies from the Hotjar analytics package to gain insight on the way that you, as a unique, anonymous visitor, make real-time use of our website (mouse clicks, mouse movements, scroll activity). The information that’s collected enables us to improve our website and tailor it to the way you use it. Hotjar does not use or display IP addresses; in other words, the data cannot be traced to your IP address.

Personal data security is very important to us. We take security measures to limit misuse and unauthorised access to personal data. We use secure network connections. In other words, the connection between you and us is secure. The information that’s exchanged with our system will remain confidential.
Changes to the Privacy Statement
When our websites and/or services change, we must obviously update the Privacy Statement too. Therefore, always check the date above and check for updated versions on a regular basis. We will do our best to announce changes separately as well.
Perusal and changes to your details

You have the following rights:
- clarification of the personal data in our possession and what we use it for;
- the perusal of the specific personal data pertaining to you in our possession;
- to request the correction of errors;
- to request the deletion of outdated personal data;
- to have your data transferred;

Always identify yourself properly, so we will know that we are not updating or deleting the wrong person’s details.
