What benefits does Deli XL gain from OnGuard User Group?

Hermsen: ‘When I started working as Finance Application Manager at Deli XL in 2005, the OnGuard selection process had recently been completed. Deli XL is a total supplier to the food-services market and has clients in the hotel & restaurant sector, the catering sector and the institutional market. OnGuard makes it possible to obtain an overview of clients and their payment obligations. Our clients, like healthcare institutions, are often a part of a group of institutions that also have a whole series of different client numbers. Customer Groups was thus one of the ground-breaking new features. This enables one to group all related debtors, in order to obtain an effective insight into the credit risk’.

 

My First impression was: ‘This has been built by people who are familiar with the debtor management’. I was intensively involved with OnGuard; configuring, evaluating and re-designing until everything was perfect. Though I remained focussed on improvement opportunities. Hermsen even developed an interface between OnGuard, Microsoft Access and the Business Objects reporting tool. Hermsen: ’This allows me to create customised periodic reports and to deliver them to concerned parties within our organisation via e-mail.’

Hermsen: ‘The diversity of people in the User Group makes things interesting. Members of the User Group fulfil various functions within various companies. Everyone executes their own Credit Management strategy and uses the OnGuard features most appropriate to their needs. During the User Group meetings I receive extensive information about product changes that will take place. This allows one to be well prepared for the new release and allows one to convey this knowledge to the users.

 

I am amazed that the Customer Groups module is not used by more of my colleagues. Maybe I can help to convince them? I’m in favour of a link between Customer Groups and Customer Scoring. Although I am the only one currently supporting this viewpoint, I feel that I am supported by Cor Makkinje (Manager OnGuard Customer Care). He coordinates the User Group and knows how to give each suggestion the appropriate attention.

 

This year has seen an expansion in the advisory role of the OnGuard User Group. The OnGuard User Group has had a direct influence on the content of the winter release by selecting, from the list of open suggestions, the options that offer the most added value to users of the software. Via the OnGuard User Group we try to reach the maximum number of clients. That’s why an event has been organised on 2 March 2010, where all OnGuard users are welcome to learn from one another.
