What can you do with the OnGuard Datawarehouse?
The OnGuard Datawarehouse is a database the structure of which enables it to quickly process, analyse and present large quantities of data. This makes it extremely suitable for lengthy reports such as a DSO trend analyses. You can use the OnGuard Datawarehouse to create your very own customized reporting environment. You can quickly and easily create your own reports without this being a burden on your OnGuard production system. Your reporting possibilities will be considerably increased with the OnGuard Datawarehouse.
How does it work?
The data that is contained in OnGuard can be exported through the Datawarehouse. This step is called replication. The frequency with which the replication is performed will depend on your reporting preferences. If you wish to create reports on a daily basis, you can replicate daily. This can be planned after importing OnGuard.
After replication, transformation is the next step. The data that has been replicated will be converted to the table structure of the Datawarehouse during transformation. This means that the data in the Datawarehouse will only be changed by the Datawarehouse itself so that everybody will receive the same information.
Intuitive software
The OnGuard Datawarehouse is a normal database and can therefore be used in the same way as any other database with the help of your standard reporting tools. The OnGuard Datawarehouse however offers you more possibilities. As well as the OnGuard Datawarehouse, OnGuard delivers the so-called OLAP cube enabling you to make more flexible reports. This means you can easily display the information in table form or graphically. Particularly the well known Microsoft Excel environment offers an excellent interface to this OLAP cube. With Microsoft Excel, you can set up reports and you can zoom in (“drill down”) for more details, zoom out and add or delete details, selections and footings by using familiar ‘drag &drop’ technology.
