From 18 till 20 May the ICTF’s International Credit Professionals Symposium took place. The gathering of all international credit professional this year was in Amsterdam. OnGuard was present at the event with a booth.
After the welcome reception on Wednesday, the official symposium started on Thursday with the keynote speaker Stephen Capon, Country and Risk Manager at ACE Global Markets.
The programme consisted of various speakers on global credit management topics. In between the different sessions there was a lot of interaction between the exhibitors and companies. The breaks were intensively used for networking and connecting with companies who had booths. One of the sessions was ‘Maximizing credit and collection performance by automating the collections process and using smart collections software’. During this session OnGuard, Credit Tools, Sidetrade and SunGard were giving the opportunity to present themselves as a company and present a customer case. For OnGuard Paul Dassen, Vice President Credit Risk Management, presented why they have chosen OnGuard, how the implementation was done and the results they achieved. Other cases were presented by ThyssenKrupp, Geodis Wilson and Veritas.
The event continued with the ICTF Ideas Exchange Forum in which the attendees were stimulated to join the discussion. After this discussion, the day ended with a networking dinner.
There were another two sessions on the last day. Solving Your People Puzzle was about how to successfully select, manage and motivate people and the workshop ‘Successful Collection Techniques involvedhe human factor in collections’ which challenged the thinking and helped with improving the in-house collection results.
Overall it was an interesting and well visited event.
