Bundeskongress 2011

On 12 and 13 October 2011 the Bundeskongress 2011 took place in the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt am Main. This year’s theme was “new information transparency in Credit Management – the added value by internal and external information sources”.

At the largest event of its kind in Germany, they discussed the procurement of data, as well as effective and responsible use of information. In addition to credit management experts (both industrial and scientific), all relevant service providers in the areas of Credit Insurance, Business Information, Corporate Finance, IT, and Rating were on site.

The kick-off of the congress was by BvCM’s chairman Jan Schneider Maessen. The event consisted of very interesting lectures from participating suppliers and discussions moderated by Prof. Dr. Bernd Weiss, an icon in German Credit Management who is blessed with the ability to discuss and clarify complex matters with a superb sense of humor. After these discussions the evening programme was opened by a special guest, Dr. Carsten Kühl, Finanzeminister des Landes Rheinland-Pfalz.

The second day of the congress started with two lectures. The rest of the day consisted of four workshop rounds about subjects as information processes in Credit Management, Working Capital Management, Credit Management 2.0, the hedging of receivables and international credit management.

The Bundeskongress 2011 was well visited with a total of 650 participants, 150 more than expected. With interesting lectures they showed ‘best practice’ options, e.g. how effective credit management can significantly help to ensure and expand transparency within your own company. The lectures also showed modern approaches and future visions for the transparency of information within credit management.
